Nancy's statement of support |
|
Nancy's statement in support of Barack Obama "I have always chosen to sing only those songs that speak to me, that resonate with my life and feelings. I am proud to support Barack Obama because he stays true to his core, and stands up for what he knows is right. As a Spokesperson for the National Minority AIDS Council, I work hard to raise AIDS awareness in the African-American communities, and deeply appreciate that Barack talks honestly with our community on this and other issues. I believe Barack can bring our nation together and realize the true promise of America, and that vision, that hope, speaks powerfully to me." - Nancy Wilson |
A message from Nancy (August 15, 2008)
It's been just two weeks since Wiley died and I continue to receive an outpouring of love and support not only from family and friends, but from fans all over the world. This message is to all of you who have sent well-wishes and prayers my way. I have always known your love and I am so grateful that you have kept me in your hearts these many years. It is physically impossible for me to respond to each and every one of you individually, but I hope you will accept my heartfelt thanks and appreciation. Even though these words are delivered via an impersonal computer screen, please know that I am truly and profoundly touched by your thoughts. |

A Mystery... Nancy Wilson stopped touring over a year ago. These days, she plays select engagements -- concerts only, no clubs. And when she travels, she does so at her leisure, usually the day before a show. So what could prompt Ms. Wilson to take a red-eye from Los Angeles to Cleveland for her September 9th engagement at Severence Hall ? It could have something to do with the taping in Hollywood of "An Evening of Stars" benefiting the UNCF , something so special she doesn't want to miss it. It could also have something to do with the passing last last year of UNCF spokesperson -- and Nancy's dear friend -- Lou Rawls. It's no secret that Nancy has been a supporter of the UNCF since its inception, and she has appeared many times on its annual television special as a performer and co-host...but not every year. So why is this year so special? Nancy isn't talking... yet. Check back for updates. |
